Marilyn Hurst

My art career began to flourish in the early 90's when I made some serious transitions in my life and discovered a hidden reservoir of creative energy. Working exclusively with Chris MacClure, an artist I respected as a mentor, my passion for art grew and with it, a new found respect for the stamina and resolve needed to make the art profession work for oneself. In 1997, Chris and I married and made the decision to move to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Since then we put together an amazing collection of art and artists at the Golden Cactus Gallery that has been the benchmark for art in the Baja ever since. Recently we sold the gallery to spend more time painting and travelling. The 12 years spent working the gallery, painting and learning the trade in an international playground has given us the freedom now to travel, paint and explore new opportunities. My work has expanded with my life and includes portraiture, abstract and romantic vignettes of Mexico, Canada and other hot spots. I have a growing list of worldwide clients whom I am proud to call friends and look forward to meeting many more.
